One app, every stage

Your story grows together. So does ima.

Pregnancy, the weeks after birth, breastfeeding and weaning each change what’s needed and what’s safe to eat for you and your little one.

  1. Week 1 to 42

    Pregnancy

Track your meals and symptoms, check that ingredients are pregnancy safe, and get food ideas for morning sickness.

  2. The first weeks

    After birth

Quick recovery check-ins to share with your midwife, and food recommendations that get you and your body through the first few difficult weeks.

  3. Baby’s day one

    Breastfeeding

Log breastfeeds with a timer for each side, expressed milk, formula, or a mix of all three. A partner or nanny can log feeds too, along with nappies and any symptoms.

  4. From 6 months

    First foods

First textures and tastes, one step at a time. Introduce allergens one by one, and track any symptoms in the 48 hours after.

How it works

Log your foods and feeds. We’ll join the dots.

  1. Logging egg and avocado toast in ima: a photo of the meal, Log or Plan, and its estimated ingredients, such as 2 slices of wholemeal sourdough and 100 g of avocado.

Step 1: Log what you eat

Take a photo, scan a barcode or a label, type it or just say it. ima lists the ingredients and estimates the amounts.

  2. The Food Safety Checker on jammy egg and avocado toast: one ingredient to check and three with no specific concern.

Step 2: Check before you eat

After logging the food, the Food Safety Checker goes ingredient by ingredient, flagging any unsafe pregnancy ingredients.

  3. Full breakdown for today: carbs, protein, fat, sugar and fibre, then vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D, iron and calcium, each against its reference.

Step 3: See what you’re getting

Check your main macronutrients at a glance, or open a full breakdown of your day. A personalised nutrition tip shows what could help, with your symptoms in mind.

  4. Food is difficult today: choose symptoms such as nausea, heartburn or low appetite, foods you can’t face today, and a list of warning signs.

Step 4: Tell it how you feel

Nausea, heartburn, the smell of fish. Log what’s hard today and ima suggests gentle food ideas that suit. Everything you log is ready to share at your next appointment, and if you tick a warning sign, it tells you who to contact straight away.

  5. Hello, mum: one week after birth, breastfeeding. Tips for eating with your hands full and for recovery, and the last recovery check-in.

Step 5: Keep going after birth

Quick check-ins follow your recovery. Log breastfeeds, bottles and nappies, then your baby’s first solids, all in the same place as your own meals.

Features

Everything for you both, in one calm place.

Symptoms

Gentle options

When food is hard, a few easy ideas that suit how you feel, each with a short reason. Save the ones that help.

Gentle options to ease symptoms: rice cakes for nausea, and ginger biscuits with ginger tea for when you feel nauseous.

Appointments

Ready for every check-up

See what’s coming up, note questions to ask, and turn your food, symptoms and supplements into a summary to print.

Coming up: 16-week check-up tomorrow at 10:30 with the midwife, and the anomaly scan. Prepare an appointment summary: symptoms, food, supplements and your questions, ready to print.

Supplements

Doubled up? You’ll know.

Tick off your supplements in one tap. If two products both contain vitamin D, ima tells you.

Supplements today: vitamin D taken, pregnancy multivitamin not yet, and a note that vitamin D is in two of your products.

Meals

What to eat next

Up next suggests a meal or snack that fits your stage, your symptoms and anything you avoid, with recipes to save.

Up next, a snack at 16:30: ginger biscuits with ginger tea, 5 minutes, 97 kcal, with a Log it button.

Care

Lab results, kept as written

Snap or upload a blood test report, check every value against the original, and see your latest results next to the last ones.

Lab results: ferritin 28 µg/L, up from 22, and haemoglobin 126 g/L, up from 85 g/L, which was outside the lab’s range.

First foods

Allergens, one at a time

See which allergen you’re introducing, how often it’s been offered, and any symptoms logged in the 48 hours after.

Introducing allergens: egg, offered three times, scrambled and well cooked, with two symptoms logged within 48 hours.

After birth

Your recovery, too

Quick check-ins on bleeding and pain, clear guidance on when to get help, and food tips for one-handed days.

One week after birth, breastfeeding: a tip for eating with your hands full, and the last recovery check-in.

Baby

Feeds, nappies and symptoms

The last feed, which side and who gave it, at a glance. Feeds, nappies and any symptoms, logged by whoever’s there.

Baby today: 4 milk feeds, last at 12:11 on the left side; 4 nappies; and a spit-up logged by the nanny.

Carers

Hand over with confidence

Invite a partner, grandparent or nanny to log for your baby. They see only what you share, and the handover keeps everyone up to date.

Handover for baby: last feed 14:30, last nappy 15:00, last sleep, the current concern and what’s next.

Our approach

Careful by design.

There’s a lot of advice out there, and not all of it is right for you. ima is built to be the calm voice: clear about what the guidance says, and honest about what it can’t know.

The Food Safety Checker’s guidance for brie: check or prepare differently, with the NHS wording on mould-ripened soft cheeses and the page it comes from.

Every answer shows its source

Food safety answers quote the guidance word for word, with where it comes from and when it was last reviewed.

A warning card: you ticked can’t keep food or fluids down for 24 hours. This is more important than food today, with buttons to call your midwife or 999.

Knows when to step back

ima never diagnoses, names a trigger or interprets results. If you tick a warning sign, food ideas pause and it shows who to call.

Your family’s data stays private

Everything you log about you and your baby is treated as sensitive. Carers only see what you choose to share, and you can take your data with you or delete it whenever you like.

A smart nutrition app for pregnancy, the weeks after birth, breastfeeding and your baby’s first foods. You log what you eat and how you feel, and ima shows what you’re getting, checks foods against guidance from health bodies and suggests meals that fill the gaps. Once your baby arrives, it tracks their feeds, nappies, sleep and first foods alongside your own records.

We’re building it now. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you as soon as ima is ready for you.

Food safety follows guidance from health bodies on foods to avoid in pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Every answer quotes the guidance it’s based on, with its source. Nutrition is compared with references for your stage, for example the extra energy suggested in the third trimester.

No. The Practical view gives you food ideas with no numbers at all. If you’d like the detail, switch to Detailed to see energy, protein, fibre and fluids. There are no scores, streaks or “calories left”, and you can change your mind whenever you like.

No. Log what you can. Partly logged days are still shown, they just aren’t compared, and anything you didn’t log is never counted as zero. Repeating a usual meal takes one tap.

Yes. Invite a partner, grandparent or nanny to log your baby’s feeds, nappies and sleep. They only see your baby by default, every entry shows who logged it, and you can stop sharing at any time.

Yes. You follow your pregnancy as usual, and the little one you’re still feeding gets their own profile. While you’re pregnant, ima checks your own food against pregnancy guidance. On your older baby’s profile you can log their breastfeeds alongside the solid foods they’re starting, kept separate from your pregnancy records.

No. ima gives general information about food and nutrition. It doesn’t diagnose anything, name the cause of a symptom or interpret test results, and it isn’t a substitute for your midwife, doctor or dietitian. If you tick a warning sign, it points you to the right help, and in an emergency you should always call your local emergency number.

Yes. Everything you log about you and your baby is treated as sensitive health information, and we never sell it. Carers only see what you share with them, and you can export or delete your data whenever you like.
